Police Want Access To NC Painkiller Lists
(Raleigh, NC) -- North Carolina put together a massive database of who uses what painkillers and now police would like a peek at it. Sheriffs in the Tar Heel state are asking the state legislature for regular access to help stop prescription drug abuse. But privacy advocates say they don't want to open everyone's medicine cabinets to police inspection. An ACLU lobbyist told the Raleigh "News and Observer" the information might leak out, quote, "particularly in small towns where everybody knows everybody." |
