9-11 Health Care Bill Set For Another Vote
(New York, NY) -- A bill that would fund health care aid to first responders and recovery workers following the 9-11 terror attacks will go up for a vote once again in the House of Representatives. Members of New York's Congressional delegation announced Wednesday that a vote on the James Zadroga 9-11 Health and Compensation Act will take place later this month and appears to have enough support to pass. The bill failed in the House back in July when Democrats tried to get it through under a procedure that required a two-thirds majority vote for approval. This time around, the bill only needs a simple majority to pass. President Obama has said he will sign the bill into law once it reaches his desk.
