The AAP Calls For Mandatory Flu Shots
(Elk Grove Village, IL) -- The American Academy of Pediatrics is releasing a statement calling for mandatory flu shots for health care workers. This isn't anything new for the Academy who has already recommended it for years. The organization believes it is necessary for patient safety. It is estimated that 80-percent or more of health care workers would need to be vaccinated to substantially reduce the number of infections. The AAP is the latest to join a growing list of organizations that back mandatory flu shots. Those groups include the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American College of Physicians, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, and the National Foundation for Patient Safety. |
