Study: Casual Sex Can Develop Into Long-Term Relationship
(Undated) -- Casual sex doesn't always mean a one-night stand. A study from the University of Iowa shows couples who first get together for casual dating, a "hook-up," or a "friends with benefits" arrangement are just as capable of developing a meaningful, long-term relationship as couples who wait to become sexually involved. The study analyzed a survey that asked more than 600 heterosexual adults in Chicago how much they loved their partner, how satisfied they were with the level of intimacy in the relationship, where the relationship was heading and how a breakup would affect their lives. It factored out people who said they weren't interested in a serious commitment. The findings are published in the journal "Social Science Research."< |
