Study: Memory Problems May Be More Common In Men
(Cleveland, OH) -- A new study suggests more men are affected by mild memory loss than previously thought. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic found that 19 percent of men aged 70 to 89 studied had mild cognitive impairment, compared to 14 percent of women. Dr. Bruce Lamb at the Cleveland Clinic says the results surprised many involved in Alzheimer's research because women have higher rates of the disease. Dr. Lamb believes more research is needed to determine if there are factors related to gender that might play a role in Alzheimer's disease. |
