Experimental Drug Appears To Cure Malaria With Single Dose
(London) -- New research shows an experimental drug can cure malaria in mice with a single dose. The drug from Novartis is effective against two common parasites and a range of drug-resistant strains of the disease. More tests are still needed before the drug can be safely administered to humans. Researchers say if the tests are positive, they expect human trials with the drug to start by the end of the year. The study was published in the journal "Science." |
