"Harry Potter" Author Donates $15.5 Million To MS Clinic
(Edinburgh, Scotland) -- Author J.K. Rowling is working some magic for a health clinic in Scotland. The "Harry Potter" creator is donating 15-and-a-half million dollars to a research center in Edinburgh that's trying to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. Rowling's mother, Anne, died of MS and the clinic is being named for her at the University of Edinburgh. Rowling told Britain's "The Guardian" newspaper that she just turned 45, which is the age at which her mother died. Rowling said she knows her mother "would rather have had her name on this clinic than on any statue." |
