Eli Lilly Wins Ban On Generic Strattera
(Washington, DC) -- Drugmaker Eli Lilly is celebrating after generic versions of its Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder drug Strattera were banned from the market. Bloomberg News reports the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit approved the Indianapolis-based company's request to halt sales of generic versions temporarily. The generics will be kept off the market while the court rules on the decision of another judge with invalidated a patent Lilly holds on the medicine. Strattera accounted for over 445-million dollars in sales last year and is the only non-stimulant drug available to treat ADHD. The court ruling came the same day that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved an application from Sun Pharmaceuticals to market a generic version of Strattera. |
