Nearly 200 Coastal Alabama Residents Complain Of Oil-Related Illnesses
(Mobile, AL) -- Nearly 200 people in Alabama have been sickened by the BP crude oil spill. The Alabama Department of Public Health says the number of coastal residents treated for suspected oil spill-related health problems has risen to 197. That compares to well over 78-thousand patients who received non-trauma care during a similar period since mid-May. The oil-related ailments included symptoms consistent with inhalation, direct contact or ingestion of crude oil and its vapors. |
