Two-Day Free Clinic Opens In New Orleans
(New Orleans, LA) -- The National Association of Free Clinics is bringing much-needed medical care to some of New Orleans' most vulnerable residents. For two days, the city's Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will be transformed into the nation's largest free clinic for the uninsured. Hundreds of volunteers will be on hand to help officials from the National Association of Free Clinics. They will provide uninsured people from the New Orleans area with basic primary and preventive care, and help them get in touch with free clinics and other safety-net providers in their area. A similar one-day free clinic drew more than a thousand uninsured people last year. This year's clinic runs today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Central. |
