British Retailer Introduces Plus-Sized Clothing For Young Kids
(Undated) -- Many British citizens are concerned about a retailer's latest line of clothing. According to the "Telegraph," Marks and Spencer has started selling plus-size clothing for kids as young as three. Marks and Spencer's new line hit stores earlier this month, and a spokesman for the company says they are simply responding to consumer demand and trends among competitors. Tam Fry of the U.K.'s National Obesity Forum says plus-sized clothing for kids that young is a sad commentary about today's youth. She remarks, quote, "It is an absolutely tragic illustration of the terrible obesity problem this country faces, and how early in life it starts. People used to dismiss obesity as a problem of the lower classes, but the decision by M&S shows just how widespread the problem is." |
