(Baton Rouge, LA) -- The number of reported illnesses in Louisiana from exposure to the BP oil spill has surpassed the 300 mark. State health officials reported Monday that since the BP rig disaster occurred three months ago, the number of oil-spill related exposure cases has climbed to a total of 324 in Louisiana. Of that number, 241 cases involved workers on oil rigs or workers involved in the clean-up efforts. The remaining 83 were reported by the general public. The illnesses included a variety of respiratory problems, vision complaints, nausea, chest pain and rashes. |
