Healthcare Activists Marching On Insurers' Meeting
(Washington, DC) -- Healthcare activists plan to march on an insurance conference in a Washington, DC hotel today. A group calling itself Health Care for America Now says it'll start out at Dupont Circle this morning with a rally. Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean will lead several speakers in favor of healthcare reform legislation. The march will head toward a downton hotel where America's Health Insurance Plans, an organization of health insurers, is holding its annual policy conference. The activists say they want to see insurers held accountable for trying to stop reform and for rising premiums and denial of claims. |
