Mixed Martial Arts Comes to Seneca Allegany Casino this Saturday |
| |
Raging Wolf Productions takes its show on the road and brings live pro cage fighting to Salamanca for the first time ever. On Saturday, July 17, Raging Wolf VIII: Cage Supremacy will be at the Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel Events Center. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and fights start at 6 p.m. Special guest appearances include UFC veteran Luigi Fioravanit and XFC champion Jarrod “The Wild Card” Card.
The Main Event – Nuri Shakir vs. Alan Arzeno
Alan “The Silencer” Arzeno is the defending Raging Wolf Regional Welter Weight Champion. Arzeno first claimed his title in January beating out hometown favorite T.J. Sumler in a five-round match. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Arzeno trains at South Florida MMA with six-time Muay Thai champion Raul Llopis. “It’s going to be fun stepping into the Wolftagon again, because I am going for fight of the night,” he said.
Nuri Shakir, originally from New Hampshire, has been training since 1999. He has fought in both the U.S. and Canada and holds an MMA record of 14-17-0. Shakir has fought more UFC fighters than most of the fighters currently in the UFC and is known for his quick strikes and ferocious slams. On Saturday night, he will try to use his experience to take away Arzeno’s belt and become Raging Wolf’s next champion.
The Co-Main Event – Tonya Evinger vs. Adrianna Jenkins
The females always promise to put on an exciting show, and they haven’t let the Raging Wolf fans down yet. Both women are at the top of the 135-pound weight class. The victor will move on to be in the top five for all MMA rankings.
Tonya Evinger pounded away at Raging Wolf Bantam Weight Champion Alexis Davis in May during Raging Wolf VII, but suffered a tough loss via submission in the third round. She is back and eager to reclaim her territory as the number one contender to compete for the title this fall, but faces a tough opponent in Adrianna Jenkins.
Jenkins has been tearing up MMA and has acquired a record of 17-4. At 5’ 9” from Oceanside, Calif., she mixes with the likes of Brandon “The Truth” Vera daily to compete at the highest level. With a record that would match any high level MMA competitor, she is ready to prove she belongs by besting her opponent.
“I’m really looking forward to this fight,” said Jenkins. “There is a lot to prove here. Tonya is a talented fighter with a lot of tools in her arsenal, but I know I am good at what I do, and I am looking forward to displaying that.”
Weigh-ins for all fighters will take place Friday, July 17, at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel. Visitors are welcome to have their picture taken with their favorite fighter, the ERW Ring Girls, and the Hey Hey Knockout Girls.
Tickets for Raging Wolf VIII: Cage Supremacy start at $35 and are available at all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com, RAGINGWOLF.com, Native Pride, and all Seneca Casino box offices.
