Capturing The World Downunder |
| |
Judith Guild will be presenting a portion of her world travels in a new photography exhibit at the Wright Gallery at the Reg Lenna Civic Center. Capturing The World Downunder: Judith Guild Photography opens with a public reception with the artist from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday May 1st. The show runs through July 2.
The show is a look at the Australian coastline from Sydney to Adelaide with a special trip to Kangaroo Island off the southern coast. There are pictures of the ever famous Sydney Opera House, coastal views that show the drama of water and rock and wildlife that is cute and friendly. Australia's natural beauty makes it easy to capture pictures that you want to look at and linger on. Australia's coastlines are rugged and harsh, a contrast to the wonderful people.
Judith Guild is a retired educator with 35 years of experience. An active supporter of the arts, she has traveled extensively, taking pictures and keeping a diary. She views the medium of photography as an art and science.
The Wright Gallery is located at 116 East Third Street in Jamestown. The gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 664-2465, ext. 227.
Capturing The World Downunder is made possible by support from the New York State Council On The Arts State and Local Partnership program and the Arts Council For Chautauqua County.
