Chamber reaches out to members and non-members
The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce (CCCC) marked its third annual Membership Crusade with a series of county wide “Walk-Abouts.”
“Understanding the needs and issues of business people is an ongoing part of what we do and is extremely important component to the development of our strategies to support business,” said Todd Tranum, President/CEO for the chamber. “I appreciate the hard work of our team including Chamber staff and the volunteers from the local Chambers that have worked together to meet with over 120 members and non-members and the past few weeks.” “Our goal with the “Walk-Abouts” is to hear the issues and concerns of business and to inform potential new members of the benefits in belonging as well as recognize and thank our current members for their investment in the Chamber,” continued Tranum.
For more information about the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and how to join visit www.chautauquachamber.org or call (716) 484-1101 or (716) 366-6200.
Why Invest in a membership with the chamber?
Part I
Joining the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and Manufacturers Association is a sound business decision that increases the opportunities for your company to be successful. We are working progressively on specific projects designed to help your company survive and position you for growth in these challenging times. We have a track record of being a champion and advocate for business. The following are some reasons why membership in the Chamber and Manufacturers Association is of high value to businesses in Chautauqua County:
1. Improve Your Bottom Line - Your Chamber has a wealth of programs and activities that can help your company prosper. All you have to do is get involved!
2. Expand Your Networking - The chamber offers many events each year to network with members. There are seven networking mixers, an annual awards banquet, annual meeting and several opportunities to meet with our county, state and federals representatives. Another way to expand your network is to let us know what's happening by submitting what's new at your business for inclusion in our monthly newsletter. And don’t forget about the Chamber committees - one more way to become an active member and receive recognition at the same time.
3. Enhance Your Credibility - Chamber membership tells your customers that you are a reputable company that actively participates in the local business community. Members are encouraged to display our Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce membership plaque at their business locations, display the Chamber logo on company materials and in their advertisements as an integral part of their marketing.
4. Receive Value-Added Benefits - As a member, you can reduce the costs of doing business by participating in any number of Chamber-sponsored programs not available to the general public. Take advantage of group health care, dental and vision plans; have access to discounts available through Constant Contact, the leading email marketing service for Small Business and more...
5. Gain Increased Visibility through Cost-Effective Marketing - All members are listed in our print and online Business Builder Source Book; members receive consumer referrals through the Chamber; members have opportunities to target their advertising to other members, who are the movers and shakers in the community; and by sponsoring Chamber events gives member businesses opportunities for community recognition.

Thank you Senator Young and Assemblyman Parment for your Support of the BPU’s Proposed Oxy-Coal Project
The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and the Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier would like to thank Senator Catharine Young and Assemblyman William Parment for their support of the BPU’s proposed oxy-coal power plant project and for working diligently on the submission of Governor Paterson’s “program bill.” The authorization of a siting process for a carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) demonstration project in Jamestown is critically important to moving this project forward.
The Chamber and Manufacturers Association recognize that Young and Parment have been instrumental in helping move this process forward and we are grateful for their efforts. This legislative framework is vital to the future of this important economic development project and we look forward to seeing the “program bill” progress forward.
Again, thank you for your ongoing support of this project.
