The Wedding Photo Book By: Loretta Legend |
| |
How important is a high quality wedding photo book? Well think about it this way. Say you run into some old friends you haven’t seen since you were married. You invite them over to your house for a dinner party. Most likely the first thing you are going to do is show them your wedding photo book and the pictures from your wedding. Or imagine a quiet night alone with your spouse, you’re on the sofa, perhaps sipping a little wine, are you flipping through the pages of your wedding photo book?
You would be if you had a wedding photo book that not only contains your wedding photos, but that also captures the essence of your wedding.
Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life and creating a wedding photo book that reflects that will give you something to treasure for the rest of your life. Now there are a lot of photographers who will put together a wedding photo book for you and many of them will do an excellent job, but you will pay for it. And the truth is you don’t have to.
Anyone can put together a very professional, very beautiful wedding photo book on their own for not a lot of money. Consider the following suggestions.
• Use a post bound book which will allow you to insert and remove pages. That way you can organize the book anyway you want.
• Think about categorizing the photos. You may want to create separate sections for photos from the professional photographer, from guests, the reception, the honeymoon, candid funny shots, etc… The idea is to be creative and to personalize your wedding photo book in a way that reflects you and you wedding day.
• Backgrounds and color add a lot. Choose pages which have some sort of design that is reminiscent of your wedding. Perhaps only use page colors which mimic the color choices used in your wedding.
• Use text to say what is missing. Text can be used to add dimension to the pages of your wedding photo book. It could be funny lines like, “Dad right before he spilled his drink on himself.” And text can also be used to add a romantic feel like, “our first kiss as husband and wife.” And don’t be afraid to use text to identify all the people in the photos. You’ll be surprised when you look back years from now at how you can’t remember who certain people are, especially kids who may be young at the wedding. List peoples names under the photos.
• Take special care with the photos. You may want to crop, enlarge and use black & white photos to capture he feel you’re after. Experiment and have fun, but ultimately choose the photo design that best compliments what you are going for.
Making a great wedding photo book isn’t hard nor is it very expensive. After the wedding, gather up all the material you have, purchase a few supplies and enjoy putting together the most important book in your house, your wedding photo book.
