The Wedding Music Schedule Worksheet

Over the last few weeks we’ve talked a lot about music at your wedding, making unique musical choices and how music can be used to enhance the environment and how it can be used to create a mood. That has prompted a few of our readers to email us their wedding music schedules, and that just made me think, that it was a really good time to go over what a good wedding music schedule worksheet would look like.

So to that point and to illustrate how intricately music can be integrated into every portion, take a look at the following wedding music schedule worksheet.

Ceremony:

20-40 minutes of music while guests are seated and await wedding service.

Special music while the families are seated, for the groom and his groomsman, and the bridal party, except the bride.

Music while the bride walks down the aisle. (Usually the traditional wedding march, but don’t be afraid to get original here.)

Special music to designate the end of the wedding ceremony and to accompany the bride and groom’s exit.

20-40 minutes of music needed while guests wait to exit.

Reception:

Special song to announce the arrival of the bride and groom.

Special song for bride and grooms first dance.

Special song for father/daughter dance. (If the bride has a father-in-law it’s a really good idea to plan a special song for a father-in-law/daughter dance.)

Special song for mother/groom dance. (If the groom has a mother-in-law it’s a really good idea to plan a special song for a mother-in-law/groom dance.)

Special song for bridal party dance.

A special group of songs to be played as the reception is coming to an end. Ideally coming to an end with a very special song you have selected.

Of course this music schedule worksheet is only an example of how music can be broken down and scheduled throughout your wedding. You may want to add in more, combine specific music themes, or even eliminate music divisions of events. The idea is to really think about every moment to make it just the way you want it, and as perfect as the moment can be.
